The gospel of Jesus and the problems of democracy by Henry C. Vedder published by The Macmillan company, New York, 1914. First Edition. Hardcover. The Gospel of Jesus and the Problems of Democracy makes a vigorous and outspoken plea for a reconstructed interpretation of Christian values. Henry Clay Vedder (1853-1935) was an American Baptist church historian, seminary professor, editor and theologian. CONDITION: This book is in good condition. Book shows normal fairly minor signs of storage & age. Tight binding, clean text. The cover is worn and scuffed. Pages have turned yellow from age. Foxing to paper commensurate with age. There is also foxing on the books edges. There is some writing, and a sticker from “Controversial Book Store” on the endpaper at the front of the book. There is a small tear on page 19.
