Rare Early Vintage TINTIN Book THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN. THE SHOOTING STAR By HERGE & with Artwork by HERGE, 2nd GB printing 1965. The 1st GB printing was in 1961 published by METHUEN & CO. LTD. 11 NEW FETTER LANE LONDON EC4, and this is a 2nd GB printing from 1965. Decorative hardback covers with the famous HERGE artwork, the covers are in overall in QGC to GC with some wear along the edges & corners, use & age wear to the spine which has come loose to one edge (see photos for more on these details & conditions). The 62 inner pages are generally in GC, but do have some tears to mainly the edges (again see photos for most of these details) some light age foxing, there is a small piece missing to the base of p.16 (see photo) but no script is missing, age browning commensurate with there age & more so to the page edges, there is an ink inscription of 'Playroom Library' to a blank page, but no other pen/ink to the other pages, the binding is a bit loose but is still intact & the book is complete (see photos for more on the books content & its conditions). Size 12" (305mm) x 9" (230mm), weight approx. 320 grams. Overall the book is in GC for its age of 59 years old. NOTE : The shadow to the centre of some of the photos is from my camera & not actually on the pages.
