The slipcover has scratches, scuffs, dings, smudges and random color marks. There is wear on the edges and corners. The spine edges are dinged in. The book cover has some scratches and light wear on the edges and corners. I flipped through the book and didn't notice any tears. There is some writing, underlining and symbols written on some pages in ink. The pages have yellowed. There are some darker smudges on the ends of the paper. I will mail this in a box.
