Lalla Rookh an Oriental Romance by Thomas Moore, Longman, Brown, Green and Longmans, London, 1853, 287 pages, full leather, illustrated frontispiece, 12mo.  In good condition, finely bound. Minor abrasions to surface of boards. Deep, rich coral colored leather remains soft and supple. Gilt work on spine is bright. Original label. Beautiful marbled end pages, minor foxing throughout and previous owner’s name on frontispiece page. Nice! Please see photos.  Thomas Moore was an Irish poet, singer, songwriter, and entertainer. As Lord Byron’s named literary executor, along with John Murray, Moore was responsible for the burning of Lord Byron’s memoirs after his death. The tale follows the titular hero nine, the daughter of 18th c Mughal emperor Aurangzeb and following story in four narrative poems, connected by prose. COLL1853ABDA

Inside front and back cover looks very good. While flipping through I saw a small stain on page 145. Keep in mind this book is from late 1800s. I am not an expert on old books and you may have your own interpretation of the condition.
