TWO 1812 Freeman’s Journal: Philadelphia Mercantile Advertiser, No. 2727 & 2730
Two issues of The Freeman's Journal: Philadelphia Mercantile Advertiser, No. 2727 and 2730, printed on November 13 and November 17, 1812, a few months into the War of 1812 and a few years into the Napoleonic Wars. These papers primarily featured advertisements for goods and services, but also reported local news and foreign intelligence. One issue mentions the ending of the Siege of Cadiz. Each consists of two sheets folded in half and printed on both sides. These papers are 214-years-old and very delicate so should be handled with extreme care.
